Police say they recovered the body of a man near to India Street in Alexandria at around 12pm on Thursday, September 18 following searches. It comes after police were seen scouring the river at the weekend after emergency services received a report at around 7.30pm on Saturday September 13 that a man was seen entering the river. The search involved the force's Air Support Unit, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and HM Coastguard. Police say the man has been formally identified and his next of kin is aware. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
