About Marcus KingMarcus King grew up in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains in a working class family with deep roots in music. His grandfather played country and western music; his uncle played bass guitar in the church; and his father played country, rock and roll, blues, and even gospel. Now he’s out with a new album called "Darling Blue," his first with the Marcus King Band since 2018, and their live performances have been described by some as an almost spiritual experience. And my dad played rock and roll music and country and western and blues music, and later on gospel music as well – as did my uncles.
