Tributes paid as healthcare trust chair and former fire officer Mark Yates dies

Mark Yates' death was announced by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, and Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust on Tuesday (September 23). At the time of his death, Mark had been chair of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care Trust since April 2021. Ellen Rule, chief executive of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care Trust, said: "We are heartbroken by the loss of Mark. Mr Yates had started his career at Bodmin Fire Station, Cornwall, in the 1980s and later joined Hertfordshire's Fire and Rescue Service. Jonathon Pryce, chief fire officer at Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, said: "We would like to pass on our most sincere condolences to Mark's family."
