Officials are crediting a McHenry County sheriff’s canine who helped officers locate an 87-year-old man who went missing in a wooded area in Island Lake on Thursday. The Island Lake Police Department responded just before 12 p.m. Thursday to the 3300 block of Carol Circle in Island Lake for a report of a missing person. Police officials said an 87-year-old Island Lake man lost his way in a heavily wooded area near the residence. Wisniewski, Kylo and Island Lake Police Department Officer Jackson began tracking the missing man for nearly a quarter-mile, police officials said. “Thank you to everyone that helped make this a happy ending,” the Island Lake Police Department said, adding, “Good boy Kylo!”
