A woman was arrested after she allegedly drove drunk and led police on a pursuit in McHenry before battering a sheriff’s deputy in the crotch after her arrest early Sunday morning.
A McHenry County sheriff’s deputy on patrol around 2:20 a.m. spotted a car that had been reported to 911 in a driving complaint, according to police radio traffic.
The vehicle, a 2013 Ford utility, was traveling approximately 100 mph down Route 31 in McHenry when the deputy spotted it.
A traffic stop was attempted near Route 31 and Veterans Parkway and the vehicle refused to pull over and a pursuit was initiated.
A high-risk traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle after it came to a stop and deputies took Lopez-Jimenez into custody.
