At Ruthin County Hall on Tuesday (September 23), an inquest was held into the death of the former bricklayer. Mr Mellor, born in Whiston, had been living at the hotel at the time of his death due to work commitments. The court heard that Mr Mellor had "struggled" with his mental health following the passing of his father as a child. Emergency services arrived at the scene and despite their best efforts, Mr Mellor was sadly pronounced dead.
