While many technologies may be designed to produce a knowable output to a user action, generative AI systems are intentionally designed to be non-deterministic. This is how then that technological determinism plus inevitability rhetoric gets shifted into technological solutionism. The reason why the technology industry valorizes disruptive technologies is because venture capitalists and well-funded companies are well-poised to capitalize on these disruptions.
