Britain and its allies have only recognised Palestine because their migration policies mean they have been “flooded with foreigners”, the US secretary of state has said.
Sir Keir Starmer formally recognised Palestinian statehood last weekend and claimed it would revive hopes of peace in the Middle East.
Donald Trump told Sir Keir that he disagreed with his plans to recognise Palestine during his second state visit to the UK last week.
Mr Rubio said the sanctions “do not advance US-led efforts to achieve a ceasefire, bring all hostages home and end the war”.
‘Hamas emboldened’On the eve of Mr Trump’s UK visit, Mr Rubio said that Britain recognising a Palestinian state would have “no impact whatsoever” in achieving a two-state solution.
