Hundreds of Prince George residents put shoes to pavement for the 45th Annual Terry Fox Run this morning (Sunday) in Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park. “We have made it bigger and better this year,” said Organizer Sylvia Masich. “We’ve got drinks courtesy of Open Door, thanks to Selen Alpay from Canadian Tire, we have cookies, we have a book raffle thanks to Shirley Bond, lots of people coming in.”Masich’s grandfather started the Prince George to Boston Marathon, which Terry Fox ran in 1979. “It was after his run here in Prince George that he knew he was ready to run across Canada, which is an incredible connection just for Prince George to have to Terry Fox,” she said. Prior to the start of the run, the total raised was nearing $16,000, and has since surpassed that mark.
