Carmarthenshire County Council is on track to deliver more than 2,000 affordable homes by 2027, with at least 1,400 homes completed since 2022 under its Housing Regeneration and Development Delivery Plan. The programme aims to address housing needs across the county and reduce homelessness by providing modern, energy-efficient homes in areas including Ammanford and Llandybie. Councillor Linda Davies Evans, cabinet member for homes, said: "Carmarthenshire County Council continues to deliver quality homes for local people as well as exceeding targets to deliver affordable homes throughout the county. "We expect the Council’s Affordable Housing Programme to continue thriving; providing suitable homes for single people, couples, families and people with additional support needs." The council’s affordable housing programme is supported by nearly £50 million in capital funding over the next three years, as outlined in the Housing Revenue Account Business Plan.
