The unit has been operating temporarily from 8am to 8pm since November 2024, after staff shortages and patient safety concerns led to the removal of overnight services. The consultation, which ran between April 28 and July 22, invited local people, staff and organisations to share their views. Mark Henwood, executive medical director, said: "We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to share their views. "We hope these insights will help the Health Board to find a solution for the MIU that is fit for purpose, now and in the future." Until a decision is made, the MIU will continue to treat walk-in patients with minor injuries between 8am and 8pm.
