Iowa State men’s basketball guard Tamin Lipsey suffered a right knee injury during practice and will be out for four to six weeks.
During practice on Tuesday, Lipsey suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain on his right knee, 24 days before the Cyclones play their exhibition game against Creighton on Oct. 17.
The six-foot-one senior from Ames, Iowa, averaged 10.6 points in the 2024 season, achieved an average of 3.1 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 31 minutes of playing time on the court.
Lipsey was awarded Iowa Mr. Basketball, made the 2024 and 2025 Big 12 All-Defensive Team, was a Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Semifinalist and was named to the CSC Academic All-America First Team.
Iowa State’s men’s basketball team will return to the court Oct. 17 for an exhibition match and will have its season opener on Nov. 3 against Fairleigh Dickinson.
