Malaysia’s Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) has announced that the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe) will be trialled at selected entry points starting 22 September 2025. During this period, the existing QR Code system and MyBorderPass app will continue to operate for immigration admission and clearance. At the same time, travellers including foreign visitors are encouraged to try the new MyNIISe mobile application, available on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery, at checkpoints activated for the trial. Importantly, a valid passport or travel document will still be required for immigration clearance, in line with the Immigration Act 1959/63. According to KDN, the system piloting has been accelerated to September 2025 from its original March 2026 rollout schedule.
