The 28-year-old American sprinter finished in 19.52 seconds at the 2025 World Athletics Championships to follow up his gold medals in 2019, 2022 and 2023. Lyles edged countryman Kenny Bednarek (19.58) and Jamaica's Bryan Levell (19.64) to claim the top of the podium. It was the fourth silver medal in the 200 for Bednarek, two at the Olympics and two at worlds. The reigning Olympic 100-meter champion won the bronze in that event on Sunday, finishing behind Jamaicans Oblique Seville and Kishane Thompson.
