I thought it felt more like an episode of a fantasy TV series than a Star Trek episode. That’s not what Star Trek is about, and if it has to be made into that to appease government stooges or terminally online CHUDs, then it will no longer be Star Trek. Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Prodigy and Star Trek: Discovery all handled relationships much better than Strange New Worlds has in this third season.
