A third thing to say here is that the advice he gave wasn’t bad in the sense of merely being wrong.
True to form, it was bad in the sense that it’ll almost certainly do more harm than good.

If so, “toughing it out” may lead to more children developing autism, not fewer.
The idea that there’s any one cause for autism is frankly silly, though.
