The piece was largely made using diamonds from the dismantled Ladies of England Tiara and the Surrey Fringe Tiara, which had been given to the Queen on the occasion of her wedding in 1893. For this banquet, however, she chose to wear the tiara in its original form, keeping the characteristic honeysuckle swirls consistent.
