Friday is an early release day for Montgomery County Public Schools, and after dismissal, students can attend a youth block party at Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring. County Council President Kate Stewart hosts the third annual “Buckets and Beats” event with the Silver Spring Regional Services Office. The free block party will be 2-6 p.m. and is targeted toward middle and high school students. MCM attended last year’s block party. The pickleball tournament does not require registration.
