The Daily Yonder
Aster’s latest movie, “Eddington,” is set in a small town of the same name in New Mexico.
The main action follows a showdown between the county Sheriff, Joe Cross (Joaquin Phoenix), and Eddington’s Mayor, Ted Garcia (Pedro Pascal).
While Sheriff Cross spends most of the movie insisting that problems, from Covid to racial injustice, are not “here problems,” he’s proven wrong at every turn.
The afflictions facing the country, from police brutality to social media addiction, affect all of us.
