Since health care is largely tied to employment, one of our earliest priorities was to make sure that we could be in a position to offer affordable, comprehensive coverage to our employees. More than 70% of the tax breaks will go to the wealthiest one-fifth of households, while the middle class gets just 10%. Medicaid cuts, in particular, threaten jobs, health care access and community well-being. On health care, we’re coming up to a harsh deadline — the lapse of premium tax credits for the Affordable Care Act, an action propagated entirely by Republican lawmakers.
