The National Task Force on Election Crises, a new group formed by a bipartisan coalition of senior former government officials, scholars and voting rights leaders to try to protect democracy in the event of a contested election, held a Thursday summit to brief reporters on ways to combat disinformation before and after the election. The four states that are most likely to decide the election — Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin — also happen to be states that this year allow mail voting, all of them but Arizona for the first time during a presidential election.
