With the start of school for most students just weeks away, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are calling for all K-12 students and school staff to wear masks. With new information surfacing about the ability of the Delta variant to spread among vaccinated people, the CDC also recommended indoor masks for all teachers, staff, students and visitors to schools, regardless of vaccination status. Last week, Mandy Cohen with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services said less than a quarter of students ages 12 to 17 were fully vaccinated in the state.
