Photo by Doug McMurdoThe city is asking the county to apply a Major Utility Overlay to property at 2651 S. Spanish Valley Drive, next to the Grand Valley Cemetery. Approval would not authorize construction but would clear the way for detailed site planning and a development agreement. The Grand County Commission is expected to vote on the overlay at its Oct. 7 meeting. The location also makes an emergency interconnect with the Grand Water and Sewer Service Agency possible, providing a backup supply in case either system’s sources fail.
