Adams County’s barns are more than farm buildings — they’re living pieces of history. For the past two decades, the Historic Gettysburg Adams County (HGAC) Barn Preservation Project has been working to keep them standing. “What brought me to the historic Gettysburg Adams County organization was the historic markers they put up around the Battle of Gettysburg marking the hospital sites. “But when you go inside, as the television program says, they have good bones.”This year marks the 20th anniversary of the barn preservation project and the 50th anniversary of Historic Gettysburg Adams County.
