In October, the company took that one step further, launching a Run for Office tool that allows users to virtually walk through the steps of launching a run for elected office. According to Sofia Gross, Snapchat’s head of policy partnerships and social impact, friends and family were five times more likely to influence Snapchat users’ voting choices than influencers or celebrities, based on a June 2020 in-app survey. Much of Snapchat’s work in the voter outreach space begins with the idea of access, whether it’s creating a voter registration app within Snapchat or giving users the tools to make a plan to vote.
