“The Rocky Horror Picture Show 50th Anniversary Convention” happens next weekend (Saturday, September 27) at The Roxy in West Hollywood, CA. The celebration takes place at The Roxy — the iconic venue where The Rocky Horror Show first debuted in the U.S. — with a full day of festivities. Special programming will feature a heartfelt memorial to Sal Piro, beloved president of the Rocky Horror Picture Show Fan Club, presented by his sister Lilias Piro. Fans can also look forward to a presentation by Tim Deegan — the Fox marketing executive who helped launch Rocky Horror onto the midnight circuit and author of Saving Rocky Horror: From Orphan to Icon. The weekend’s screenings include the final cut of the fan documentary Rocky Horror Saved My Life, hosted by director Shawn Stutler, and Strange Journey, Linus O’Brien’s award-winning exploration of the history and cultural impact of both The Rocky Horror Show and The Rocky Horror Picture Show….
