Though Dallas has several research universities with programs dedicated to the field like UT Southwestern, the University of Texas at Dallas and the University of North Texas, many companies that have been born in Texas have eventually left to go to more established biotech hubs around the country. "This is not the same Dallas of 20 years ago," said Joseph Pancrazio, vice president for research and innovation at the University of Texas at Dallas. With Pegasus Park's birth, companies have more of an incentive to locate in Dallas, said Kelly Cloud, vice president of economic development with the Dallas Regional Chamber.
