CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Governor Roy Cooper says North Carolina experienced a “comeback” during his eight years in office and suggested his political career is not over during a farewell address Wednesday morning. Cooper told those gathered at Nash County Community College that the Tar Heel State has seen growth, adding more than 640,000 jobs since he took office. “Roy Cooper has his act down, and I thought it was a good speech about his performance as governor, but also tantalized people by suggesting that he’s not through,” said Pope “Mac” McCorkle, a professor at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy.
