Following a special meeting, the Wrexham Supporters Trust voted to allow sale talks to go ahead with "two extremely well-known individuals of high net worth". As a result, the trust announced it was in a position to confirm the two people were Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Mr Reynolds is an award-winning Canadian actor, writer, producer and business entrepreneur whose credits include Marvel’s Deadpool. A spokemsan said at the time: "In due course, Mr. McElhenney and Mr. Reynolds will put forward their vision for Wrexham AFC and proposal for members to vote on at a second Special General Meeting."
