Denbighshire County Council's Streetscene department has secured grant funding to turn this vision into reality. The money from the Public Recreational Open Space Commuted Sums will be used to purchase and install "friendship" seating benches in strategic locations. Created by Meifod wood products, a Denbigh-based workshop providing work opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, these benches will be crafted from sustainably sourced wood. The benches will feature QR codes, linking to an online site providing information about the area and the overall route. Councillor Barry Mellor, Denbighshire County Council’s Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: "This is a fantastic initiative for the town and its great to see that a local well-loved service in the form of Meifod is helping bring this project to life."
