Freedom of Information figures released by North Wales Police revealed the number of drivers caught speeding on the A548 coast road at Greenfield, near Holywell. Since the review of the 20mph limit in the summer of 2024 and August 22, 2025, the figures show that 1,332 motorists have been caught speeding over 30mph on the road. The A548 Bagillt Road was one of the roads that members of the public called to be changed back to 30mph following the Welsh Government's review. The Welsh Government made £5million available to local authorities to help fund the speed limit changes. However, the A548 in Greenfield remains subject to a 30mph limit - with only several roads in Flintshire being changed back to 30mph.
