echolalia echolalia After reading the first poem in Jane Shi’s debut, echolalia echolalia, I put down the book and paced in circles. Centering an autistic, Chinese Canadian speaker, echolalia echolalia is a much-needed antidote to a white and medical gaze that has long flattened racialized and neurodivergent people into tragedies, punchlines, and inspirational (read: exploitable) geniuses.
