Kennett football players, coaches and fans alike hugged each other while watching the display of fireworks, celebrating what would be the Indian’s first Homecoming victory since 2023. However, with this game on Sep. 19 marking Kennett’s 70th Homecoming Anniversary and the 100th Anniversary for the SEMO Football Conference, the Indians had years of tradition to uphold, through victory. “Homecoming is a big deal here in Kennett,” Wyatt said. They wanted this game back, if for nothing else, to prove this is not the same 0-10 Kennett team. It also could mark the turn of the tide for Kennett football.
