MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Nearly 12 years after the initial report, a man in Wisconsin has been arrested for alleged sexual assault after a DNA sample found a hit in a national FBI database. An unknown man who reportedly offered to assist her ended up attacking and sexually assaulting her in a parking lot. Officials identified DNA evidence from the alleged attacker, and it had circulated in the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) since December 2013 with no hits. According to the release, the Madison Police Department received a hit for the DNA collected in the case, and drafted a probable cause for 2nd Degree Sexual Assault for Nathaniel Stabler.
