Garscadden House has now been fully acquired by Glasgow City Council (GCC) as part of the regeneration of Drumchapel Town Centre. The local authority stated that this move paves the way for the creation of additional community spaces for the area. The proposed hub would feature a relocated library, the co-location of other services, and further community use of the building would be invited and encouraged. Almost £15 million in funding has been secured from the UK Government to support the regeneration of Drumchapel Town Centre. The project has several elements, with the development of Drumchapel Town Hall, improvements to Drumchapel Park (including the reopening of the Pavilion), improved accessibility around the town centre, and enabling the development of new affordable housing.
