The 'hateful' act has been condemned, and a report was made to the council when the matter arose. Oxley said a local resident swiftly covered up the graffiti before it ended up being painted over. Councillor Lauren Oxley said: "I was deeply disturbed to learn about the antisemitic graffiti that appeared in Old Kilpatrick yesterday. This hateful act has no place in our community, and I am grateful to the residents who acted quickly to cover it.
