An art exhibition that delves into the human condition through a captivating dialogue between myth and modernity shall be on show in Black Liquid Art Gallery in the Italian capital, Rome, from December 14, 2024. The exhibition, titled Ancestral Metamorphosis: Soly Cissé and Seyni Awa Camara, juxtaposesg the works of Soly Cissé and Seyni Awa Camara, two of the most prominent Senegalese artists on the contemporary art scene. Soly Cissé’s hybrid, dreamlike creatures, rendered in paintings rich with symbolic meaning and chromatic tension, find a counterpoint in Seyni Awa Camara’s clay sculptures, which celebrate resilience, fertility, and a dialogue with the spiritual world.
