KIM BURTON-SCHRAMLOCAL JOURNALISM INITIATIVE REPORTERThe Lochiel Centre in North Glengarry was built in 1851 and named St. Alexander Church, part of the Upper Canada Catholic Diocese.
2025 marks the tenth anniversary of the Lochiel Centre, which was celebrated with live music, family activities and an opportunity for everyone to reminisce about the successes, challenges and great memories that have been created over the ten years.
The Lochiel Centre Book Sale is organized by genre and has something to suit everyone’s tastes, including a separate Children’s Section.
In 2024, the Lochiel Centre saw its largest event with record book sales and attendance, helping the Centre to earn $29,000 through sales.
For Henriette, the Lochiel Centre is like a second home, and her board knows she puts in many extra hours.
