The workshop also served as a convening space for incoming members of the UN Security Council’s Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict, which Belgium is chairing during its 2019-2020 Council term. Other sessions examined implementation of the UN’s Monitoring and Reporting Mechanism (MRM), the UN’s engagement with parties to conflict that have committed grave violations against children, practical challenges to the implementation of the CAC agenda at the field level, and mental health and psychosocial support for children affected by armed conflict.
