It's because they were inadvertently designed to trigger the parts of our brains-- so the reptilian system, as Daniel Kahneman calls it, quick thinking, and that means you want to spread things that are amazing, things that you've never heard before, things that are unbelievable. But one of the things that's changing is not just that we've connected a billion people, seven billion people to access information but more and more of them are able to contribute in a way and one of the biggest parts of our agenda should be to widen that funnel, ultimately, ultimately to almost everybody who to be able to contribute. So even things down to state and local levels are the people who set a lot of the actual regulations on tech and data, vote for those people who are going to do it right.
