A Design Code for Big Tech
['Justin Hendrix']
The Tech Policy Press Podcast
So the design code, it reflects a lot of the best practices that I experienced in my time at Meta, like, the things that were most effective in crisis settings, in elections, people would often say things like why don't we have these things all the time? So we haven't had a lot of people sign the code from those places, but we have taken input from people and it's just when you ask an organization or a person at such an organization to sign such a thing, it just is a higher bar. And I think part of the problem we have in the United States is we're so polarized that we can see people using a thing to achieve ends that are things that we wouldn't support in a way that you won't see in other places.
