The JET Program partners with more than 55 countries around the world to send young professionals to Japan to work in a multitude of different capacities: work in schools, boards of education, and government offices throughout Japan. Dr. Karen Newman, Associate Professor of English at the University of Indianapolis and Sarah’s professor, said, “I’ve known Sarah since she was a student in one of my Teaching English Language Learners (TELL) courses. These include nationally competitive awards like the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship, JET Program, English Program in Korea, and the Peace Corps.
