ICE tear gases protesters, candidates

Federal immigration agents deployed tear gas on a group of protesters that included Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss and three other congressional candidates Friday morning at an ICE processing facility in Broadview.
She added that although the agents informed the protesters of their rights to protest, they were still shooting pepper balls early in the morning.
It’s a crime.”Abughazaleh called out other elected officials across the state for not standing with protesters, but commended Lt. Gov.
She also noted that three protesters had been arrested by agents who she called “the real violent criminals we must shun from American society.
“I hope it increases next week … I’m probably going to go back.”Biss and Abughazaleh appeared at the facility last Friday, protesting ICE operations.
