dsm-firmenich receives UK approval for methane-reducing feed additive Bovaer Authorities in the United Kingdom approved marketing for the methane-reducing feed additive Bovaer, now available in 57 countries worldwide. Bovaer® is a feed additive which effectively and immediately reduces methane emissions from cattle, with average reductions in dairy cows of 30%. This is the first authorization by the UK for a feed additive targeted at an environmental benefit. Personally, I’m exceptionally delighted, as we are building a world scale production plant for Bovaer® in the UK to help support global sales. dsm-firmenich aims to make Bovaer® available to the UK dairy sector early 2024 and will work closely with the sector to introduce Bovaer® and its benefits to the dairy value chain.
