Despite the decline, prices were still 5.7% higher than in April 2024 in real terms, adjusted by the IPCA inflation index. This drop comes at an unusual time of year but is attributed to increased supply and lower consumer demand for dairy products. Milk production remained strong even as the offseason approached. The Cepea Milk Production Index (ICAP-L) rose 3% from March to April.
