Officials recommend that farmers and vets consider vaccination to protect animal welfare and reduce the likelihood of disease spread. The veterinary community stresses that the primary goal of vaccination is to safeguard animal health—not simply to facilitate trade. Vaccination remains the most effective means to prevent illness, minimise suffering, and limit the spread of BTV-3.
