The two sides have yet to reach a deal on EU tariffs on EVs. The Ministry of Commerce said it has decided to extend the investigation period on EU dairy imports until February 21, 2026, in view of the "complexity" of this case. Last year, China also launched probes into imports of EU brandy, dairy and pork products. In June, China extended its pork investigation by six months, and in July, it announced duties of up to 34.9% on EU brandy producers - though major cognac makers were spared, provided they sell at or above a minimum price.
