Until there is more evidence of a shift in demand, however, cattle futures continue to receive support, Kalo said.
CME October live cattle futures ended 0.175 cent lower at 235.800 cents per pound.
Feeder cattle rose after four sessions of declines, with the October contract ending up 1.300 cents at 359.200 cents per pound.
The select cutout rose $0.15 to $385.34 per cwt.
