Carl J. Grannan, 81, passed away at home at 9:49 p.m., March 10, 2025. Carl was born March 14, 1943 in Washington, the son of Carl H. and Ruth L. (Rosenberry) Grannan. He married Gloria Palmer February 23, 1962 and she survives. Carl retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center's Defense Department after many years of dedicated service. Following retirement, he enjoyed working at Craney's Body Shop for several years. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 630 where he was very active. Carl had many interests, but above all, he loved fishing and was very active in the local fishing club Bass Anglers Sportsman Society. Survivors include his wife, Gloria; daughters, Kim Larkin and husband Tony of Washington; Kelly Buckley of Indianapolis; Allyson Hoover and husband Matt of Winter Garden, Florida; sister, Betty Ruth Jeffers and husband Greg of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Cody Buckley and wife Lauren, Morgan Buckley, Beth Larkin, Leanna Larkin, Margaret Larkin, Annie Buckley, Claire Jackson, Harper Jackson; and great-grandchildren Hugh and Eddie Buckley. Carl is preceded in death by his parents and niece Carly Zurcher. Friends may visit with Carl's family 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 315 NE Third St., Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon celebrated by Rev. Paul Ferguson and Yvonne Evans. Carl will be laid to rest in St. John Cemetery.
