Gerald Dean Jett, 86, Edwardsport, Indiana, passed away
March 15, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. Gerald was born on July 2, 1938 in Bicknell, Indiana, to Kenneth P. Jett and Nina E. Jett.
Gerald proudly served 20 years in the United States Navy, retired as a Chief Petty Officer, honorably discharged, was a veteran of the Vietnam war, and went on to another 20 years career in civilian roles at NSA Crane. There was nothing of which he was more proud than his service to nation and countrymen.
Gerald enjoyed hunting, fishing and euchre with friends. He became a Master Mason, active in multiple lodges in southwestern Indiana. In his later years, he took up golfing and volunteered with Good Samaritan Hospital and Indiana Military Museum.
Gerald is survived by his children Carolyn Basso, Gerald W. Jett, Cassandra Parker, Samantha Vivo, Joshua Jett, daughter-in-law Kimberly Weimer and grandchildren Taylor Feeney-Weimer and Jamie Parker.
He was preceded in death by former wife and mother of four children Mary Carolyn Banks, late wife Joyce E. Jett, and siblings Kenneth P. Jett Jr., Donald E. Jett, James W. Jett, and Jocelyn R. Klien.
In keeping with Gerald's wishes, no service will be held and his remains will be spread in a private family ceremony.
